I have a home-based business which has been a real blessing to me and hundreds of people in my own network. It has blessed us with better health, in some cases dramatic recoveries, and it has provided an alternative source of income, sometimes even a replacement income, for many of us!

Thanks Scott and Debra for creating this outlet because I don't know how. My name is Edith Gatewood. My retirement business is teaching reading. I actually am a missionary/teacher to China and am in current negotations to purchase a franschise school from an Austalian. My plan is after I establish relationship with students and parents, to give out Bread in two different flavors, at specific times, as gifts. This works well. Thanks to all of you who have provided a little information about yourselves and your businesses. I appreciated having websites or phone numbers where we can learn about your business and how we may benefit from using your service.

With that said I realized I needed to talk about who I am and what our family business is.
My husband Kevin has been an Electrician for 18 years. He is such a gifted man, he is pretty much able to make a dinosaur out of a napkin. Not only can he do electrical work, he is really able to do any trade in the home repair industry. I have told him several times he should've obtained his General Contractors License, and that could still happen. Kevin worked very hard to obtain his Electrical Contractors License, and in 1999 we started our business Spotlight Electric, LLC. One of the main reasons that we started our own business is that we have 2 Special needs angels that the Lord has allowed us with great humbleness to have in our lives. I had to quit working and care for our children as I desired to be the one to do their care. I obtained my CNA license so that I could be their caretaker 24/7. What an honor it is to have 2 of the most bravest boys I have ever met, they are truly my heroes, and I am a better person because of them. Recently when our economy took a bit of a downturn business came to a dramatic slow down. We have been praying to find a new vision and path for our business. Kevin even considered closing the business and possibly finding work with another company, but the Lord spoke to us in such a way letting us know that wasn't His plan for us. In May of 2008 I started a foundation called A Caretaker's Wish, Inc. This foundation will be utilized to grant wishes to caretakers in the community. I will talk more about the foundation in more detail in a separate story. When praying about what direction the Lord wanted our electrical company to go, my husband began to see that for the time being we needed to market residential electrical service and repair. There for awhile he was doing all new construction, and major remodel projects with other contractors. Of course with the economy people are being a little more careful with their expenses as they should. We realized that people will always need service or repair for electrical in their homes. What makes us so different then many of the service and repair companies out their is our integrity, morals, and a real desire to put caring back into service. We care more about the people, and really taking care of their needs without breaking their piggy banks :-) In July of this year we created a new division of Spotlight Electric, LLC called A Caretaker's Electrical Service & Repair, in hopes that we could build our business in the service & repair industry. The benefit of using A Caretaker's Electrical Service is that we are merging our service with A Caretaker's Wish foundation. This means that anyone who utilizes our service that some of the proceeds will go to support this wonderful foundation. So there you have it, we are a lovely family with dreams to be successful despite our trials and tribulations. We desire to bless those as we truly have been blessed.
